- SOME OTHER NEWS FROM THE
MACHADO BROTHERS:
Brother Jean Jacques was
nominated among top honors at
the "Monaco Charity Film
Festival", featuring his
biographical DVD "Force of the
Spirit" (please check
www.jeanjacquesmachado.com
for more info). This remarkable
film shows never before seen
footage of Jean Jacques, and how
he was able to overcome a
handicap from birth, and through
incredible perseverance, turned
an apparent disadvantadge into a
success in the martial arts
world.
Jean Jacques Machado was born
without four fingers on his left
hand, and managed to become a
national blade hockey champion
in Brazil during his teens.
Later on he followed in the foot
steps of his cousins (the
Gracies) and his brothers to
become one of the most acclaimed
competitors of Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu in the world. A must
see!
Brother John recently
experienced the rush of the "Red
Carpet", attending premieres in
Los Angeles and New York for the
theatrical release of martial
arts drama "Red Belt", written
and directed by Hollywood's
legendary writer David Mamet
(please see more info at
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1012804/
). John plays character "Augusto
Silva", and performs the main
fight of the film. Still
showing at selected theaters.
