Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the most effective self-defense instruction in all of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut by giving our students the techniques needed to defend themselves in a realistic situation, were there are no rules, points, or time limits.  Our basic beginner program teaches jiu-jitsu as a method of realistic self-defense and personal development not as a tournament sport. Objectives for our students consist of not only learning the best proven self-defense system in the world by using the most effective exercises in the sport but also by becoming a true martial artist, which represents morality, honor and value to self and others in the community.

The name Guerrero derives from the word “guerra” meaning “war” in spanish.  Seemingly the surname is originally a nickname, which describes a soldier who had returned home from war. This is really interesting because Shihan Guerrero is not only an excellent instructor and motivator but he is also a United States Marine Corp. Veteran, who in 2003 was activated by the Marine Corp. to serve in Iraq for “Operation Iraqi Freedom”.  He is true to the name “Guerrero”.
